Clackamas County Criminals
Dear Patriot,
I am calling on you to join us at the next Clackamas County Commission Board Meeting to rally behind independent elections and confront the abuse of power by the Commissioners.
If you object to our county Commission spending our tax dollars on illegal political propaganda, join us!
If you object to our county Commission spending over $30,000 on postcards advocating for Measures 66 & 67, join us!
If you object to our county Commission urging one of our own cities to dissolve in order to subvert the will of its' voters, join us!
If you object to our county Commission appropriating $25 million dollars to a new light rail project previously defeated by voters, join us!
$25 million for Town Center?
$25 million for the Sellwood Bridge?
Citizens Supporting Integrity -- could be very useful. As the issue is not just Sherry Hall. If we make it just about Sherry and not the firing of the Tourism Director of ten years or the probable purchase of a very expensive piece of art in the midst of the greatest recession since the GREAT Depression, it won't work. It's about their integrity.
This, from a reliable source…
“The info I have is that Lynn Peterson wants to use the county hotel tax to fund bike paths and that Linda Bell wouldn't go along and was the reason she was fired. Now I have it from a reliable source in the county that they have hired Jim Bernard's wife to fill that position.
The deal was made 3 weeks before Linda Bell was notified that she no longer had a job.
In fact she was fired on a Monday morning without any previous notice and was told to be gone by that afternoon.
Commissioner Bernard's wife had been telling people that she had the job weeks before the firing of Linda Bell.
Commissioner Bernard is running for re-election to the Clackamas County Commission.”
Lynn Peterson has both endorsed and donated $500 to Clerk Hall’s opponent
Lynn Peterson’s electioneering
- Use of County Counsel to interfere with Clerk Hall’s legal responsibility (Counsel’s attempt to litigate vacated)
- Commissioner Peterson illegal meeting
- Press releases (Oregon Live, Will. Week)
Jim Bernard had endorsed Clerk Hall’s opponent
Dave Hunt has inserted himself in this matter by
- Endorsing Clerk Hall’s opponent
Points
Deputy Administrator for Clackamas County was just hired. This is the County’s second deputy administrator. So, now there is an administrator and two deputy administrators. Salary can be found on line.
Audit of Clackamas County’s Elections Department was completed in December 2009 and the positive results can be found on line. [Sherry says the audit of her department went well.]
Lynda or Linda Bell was Tourism Director for Clackamas County for ten years. She was thinking of leaving but hadn’t given notice yet. Recently, she was pink slipped. Her replacement is Danielle Bernard, Jim Bernard’s wife, who was previously the County’s lobbyist. There were no interviews conducted. She was appointed to the job by the Commissioners.
Purportedly a large piece of metal sculpture was recently purchased for the County. The price may have been $40,000. We need to verify this price.
The expense for the reprinting of the ballots was $118,000. It will be paid for out of the Elections Department budget. They have adequate funds for this as well as meeting the needs of the department for the rest of the year.
Sherry Hall sought legal assistance when she saw County Counsel, Steven Lounsbury, was assisting the County Commission. She knew they could not also assist her. It represented a conflict. No one told her this. She perceived it. When her attorney, Bill Claron, called Ed McGlone, after he couldn’t reach Lounsbury, he said he felt it was fair to say McGlone discouraged him from taking the case.
Reputedly, the Commissioners are all supporting Sherry’s opponent, Melody.
Three of the Commissioners are up for election: Lininger, Austen, and Bernard. Yet they are actively involved in this “electioneering.”
This brazen attempt to “oust” Sherry Hall occurred one day after ballots were mailed (arguably for maximum political benefit?)
The meeting the night of April 25???
Sherry Hall did not proceed with the reprinting in defiance of a court order. She held to a directive issued by the chief elections officer of the State, the Secretary of State.
260.685 Elections official compliance with directives of Secretary of State.
An elections official shall not knowingly fail to comply with an interpretation made by the Secretary of State of any election law or a directive, an instruction or a rule made by the Secretary of State under ORS 246.110, 246.120, 246.140 or 246.150.
Attorney Claron wrote it was possible Sherry Hall’s interpretation re placement of Position 3 on the ballot was correct. No time for interpretive discussion due to need to comply with mail out date.
County Commissioners do not conduct elections. Perhaps most true when they are candidates. County Clerks do. The Clerk takes orders from the Secretary of State. County Commissioners have no jurisdiction. ORS 254.016.
First approach to a judge for a determination was made in Oregon City. When he (Sherry Hall knows his name) learned of the Secretary of State’s directive, he refused to continue to touch the issue.
Water District issue? Oak Lodge?
Clackamas AFP is calling on all Patriots to participate in a Tea Party beginning … to expose, publicize, and demand answers for the County Commission's illegal act of wasting our tax dollars to promote their own political objectives. Now they are interfering with our elections!
At this point, it is clear to me that the Commission is using this whole ploy as an electioneering maneuver.
Can we get a TEA Party organized to confront this rogue Commission tomorrow at 10 AM
We ask residents of Clackamas County to join us in person to rally outside and attend the presentation.
For public testimony - go to the 3rd floor, there will be small table outside of the commissioners throneroom. On the table are blue cards. Fill out the card and put it into the basket, or hand it to the woman who calls for them once you are inside the room if you are too late to put it in the basket.
You will be given 3 minutes to speak - they will call your name and you go up to the table and microphone. There is a timer on the table and also on the wall. Try to use up all three minutes if you can. Speaking rather than reading goes over a lot better - make eye contact - they will try to intimidate you through their body language. Be polite. You will be able to find videotape of the proceedings online afterwards.
Contact media if you can to cover your event. If it is too late for tomorrow - go after them for next week. This is a hot and current topic so you should be able to get some journalists to attend. Good Luck!
Concerns of a Clackamas County resident:
We have an opportunity to make sure our votes are fairly counted by someone who is NOT politicizing the Elections Office in this May 18th primary election in Clackamas County.
We know that George Soros intends to take over the elections via first installing his operatives as Secretary of States. Here's the article.
http://spectator.org/archives/2009/12/04/soros-eyes-secretaries
We know that he has plenty of money to send to various groups, PAC's.
We also know that at least at least one challenger in this race is funded by the Democratic party of Oregon, and funded or endorsed by Lynn Peterson and Jim Bernard, people who are willing to spend $35,000 of taxpayer money on pro -M66&67 propaganda literature. We also know that there was a recent last minute lawsuit challenge to the May ballots, on a technicality, which I believe serves to embarrass our existing County Clerk, Sherry Hall, who is a soft spoken, nice lady who just wants to do the job according to the law. She is a registered Independent, I believe, so as to not let party affiliation be a distracting factor with her job. I believe the timing of this challenge to the ballots, all of this is orchestrated so that they can discredit Sherry and then usher in their own candidate. We know the Saul Alinsky method of destroying the opponent, rather than winning the election by merits. We also know from history that the liberals work together when they are in power. We must not let a liberal operative take over the Elections Office in Clackamas. In elections moving forward, I do not want to see a crooked official finding new boxes of ballots to count, way past the due date, such as what happened in the Al Frankin election in Minnesota. As you know, Oregon has plenty of Liberal judges who would not do the right thing, so we can not count on the courts to do what is fair and lawful. Do your own research. Support Sherry Hall. Tell your friends.
Lastly, if this is happening in Clackamas County, do not doubt that it is happening in local races all over the country. How many other counties are also at risk? God help us all.
Joseph Stalin once remarked, "The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything."
